Martin given probation
A Mountain Home man convicted in March for his role in a fatal car accident will spend the next 10 years under supervised probation following a jurisdictional review hearing in District Court on Nov. 10.
Initially, Michael Martin faced a maximum of 19 years in confinement after he was found guilty of felony drunken driving and a second felony of leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries or fatalities.
As a condition of the sentence issued in June, Judge Michael Wetherell placed Martin on a rider. A supplement to the sentencing, it required him to undergo six months of alcohol treatment and additional counseling to determine if Martin should remain in confinement or be released on a restricted basis.
