Those surprised should be honored
Dear editor:
There was a small article in the G.F. (Glenns Ferry) Gazette two weeks ago about a surprise party for George Wither's 80th birthday and Earl Lischendorf's 90th birthday. We were at this event when they came in and were totally surprised.
It was really a good party for George and Earl. There were some good remarks from all the grandchildren of these two men. I want to follow up with my thoughts about these two men.
George and I had traded farm and ranch work since 1962. He was always willing to help me in any way. Since I lived across the river in Owyhee County, I had to go all the way to Marsing to see the Owyhee County agent.
George had lots of knowledge on farming and ranching since he had been on every committee imaginable. So I usually called him with my questions. You acquire lots of knowledge from experience.
Earl moved here about 1970 -- retired from the Air Force. I spent four years in the Air Force, so we always related to each other.
I just want to declare that they are two of the best neighbors anyone ever had.
