Jerry House
Jerry Wayne House, 68, of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at a local hospital.
All his family and friends are invited to a potluck celebration of Jerry's life to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, at Adrian's Club. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Jerry was born on Aug. 6, 1942, in Marked Tree, Ark., the son of Ocie and Floy House. He completed high school and two years of college while serving in the US Navy.
Jerry retired from the Navy as a senior chief petty officer, after 23 years of service, on May 1, 1993. While serving he received five Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), four Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.
Jerry was the beloved husband of Rena, father-in-love to her children, Mike (who passed away Aug. 12, 2009), Kevin, Terri Hodges and Michelle White, and father to Kathy House and Rhonda (Kirk) Leibert.
He is also survived by two brothers and four sisters, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
