Wrestlers place at Pocatello event
Mountain Home's Mountain Man wrestling club sent 10 wrestlers to the Warrior Ultimate Challenge mountain man wrestling tourney in Pocatello over the weekend, and seven of them placed in their weight classes.
Austin Clark came away with a second-place effort in the high school 152 pound weight class. Charlie Shoemaker finished third in the middle school 144 pound class.
In other tournament action, Cory Pinque placed fourth in the high school 140 pound class. Erwin Ruiz was fifth in the 152 pound high school class.
Sixth-place efforts went to Pierce Mederios in the novice 70, Josh Lucas in the novice 80 and Devonte McClain in the high school 135 pound class.
Mountain Home Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson was pleased with the efforts and indicated they still have room for more wrestlers to wrestle mountain man. They practice on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m.
Those interested in wrestling mountain man wrestling should show up during that time.
