Leola Getz
Leola C. Getz, 92, of Mountain Home, passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at a local care center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at the Christian and Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Burial will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, Calif., on Jan. 4, 2010.
Leola was born on May 26, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Neil and Leola Gates.
Leola married Norman Getz on June 17, 1946, in Pasadena, Calif. The family moved to Arizona in 1928 and moved to California in 1937. While residing in Riverside, Calif., she was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and an active member of the Alter Guild. She attended Pasadena City College.
In 1997, she moved to Mountain Home.
She loved to garden, cook and spend time with family and friends.
She was also member of the Christian and Baptist Church.
Leola worked as a child care provider, sales clerk at Sears and Roebuck and was a homemaker.
Leola is survived by a daughter, Leola, and her husband, Harold Jackson, of Mountain Home, a son, Paul, and his wife, Marie Getz, of Banning, Calif., a son, Richard, and his wife, Nora Getz, of Snohomish, Wash., sister Elizabeth of Tucson, Ariz., sister Virginia of Altadena, Calif., sister Joan of Elk, Wash., brother Justus of Tucson, Ariz., brother Hugh of Oceanside, Calif., two grandchildren, Nichols and Spencer, of Snohomish, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Leola Gates, her husband, Norman, in 1992, and her sister, Sylvia.
