Fannie Snider
Fannie Margueretta Snider, 90, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at a Boise hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at the Bruneau American Legion Hall, inurnment will follow at the Bruneau Cemetery. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Fannie was born on Dec. 5, 1919, in Brutus, Mich., the daughter of Elias and Susanna Gregory.
She married Edwin Snider on Feb. 15, 1941. While living in Michigan, they had two children, Lorraine and Glenn. The family moved to Upland, California in 1945 and three more children were born, Keith, Karen and Janice. In 1952 the family moved to Filer, Idaho, and her son, David, was born. In 1955 the family moved to Mountain Home.
Fannie was a busy homemaker, and she always had a big garden. Every year she canned food to feed the family through the winter.
Fannie is survived by her children, Lorraine Rogers of Missouri, Glenn and his wife, Verna Snider, of Nampa, Keith and his wife, Laura Snider, of Bonners Ferry, Karen Keenan of Mountain Home, Janice Estes of Boise and David and his wife, Joy Snider, of Mountain Home, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara Snider, and a brother, Bill Gregory, both of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, five sisters, Beulah Ihler, Rhoda Kilmer, Emma Newswanger, Mary Burkhart and Audry Rogers, one brother, John Gregory, one great-grandson and her son in-law, Jim Keenan.
