New forest service ranger named for local district
Boise National Forest Supervisor Cecelia Seesholtz has announced that Stephaney Church has been named as the new district ranger for the Mountain Home Ranger District within the Boise National Forest.
Church is currently the center manager for the Boise Interagency Dispatch Center. The dispatch center provides safe, cost effective service for wildland fires within southwest Idaho for Boise District BLM, Boise National Forest, and Southwest Idaho Department of Lands. The three agencies cover 9.3 million acres of land with fire suppression responsibilities for eight million acres.
"I am really looking forward to this exciting opportunity," said Church. "I've always enjoyed working at the district level and the challenges and opportunities that come with working on a district."
She received BS and MS degrees in forestry from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
Church and her husband have an 11-year-old daughter, Summer, and they all enjoy a variety of outdoor activities especially skiing.
