Elaine Deschene
Elaine Deschene, 70, of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at her home, following an illness.
A viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, with a viewing starting at 9 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.
Elaine grew up in Massachusetts with a love of spending weekends at the beach where she used to recall fond memories of being with her father and sisters.
After graduating from high school, she married Paul Deschene, on April 26, 1958, in Denver, Colo. Together they traveled to many different places in the military, including Germany, until finally settling down in Mountain Home, where they stayed to finish raising their four children.
Elaine was a stay-at-home mom that loved nothing more than to be there for her family when they needed her. That all-encompassing love spread out to anyone that walked through the doors of her home.
In her spare time she enjoyed a love for making cakes for special occasions, working on crossword puzzles from the newspaper and spending time on her computer playing word games.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Paul Deschene, of Mountain Home, three sons, Michael and his wife, Elizabeth Deschene, of Mountain Home, Timothy and his wife, Alicia Deschene, of Emmett, Scott Deschene of Mountain Home, a daughter, Jennifer Deschene of Mountain Home, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two expected in a few months time. She is also survived by a sister, Jeanette Swift, of Massachusetts, and one brother, Lucien Berube, of California.
She was preceded in death by both parents, and two sisters.
