David Rowett
David Williams Rowett, 52, of Sacramento, Calif., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at home.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 4-6 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at St James Episcopal Church and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.
David was born on Feb. 27, 1957, to Charles and Ellen Rowett in Sacramento, Calif. David was developmentally disabled by cerebral palsy since his birth. Although he lived a very restricted life, David was usually cheerful and those who knew or cared for him loved him.
After his parents died, he lived in a care facility in Sacramento until it closed last January. At that time, Angelo Porter, who had been Davidıs close friend and advocate for 12 years, began caring for him in his home. He was residing with Angelo at the time of his death.
David is survived by his uncle Robert and aunt Maxine Rowett, cousins David, Richard and Kevin Sutherland, John, Robert and Victor Rowett, Ann Campbell, Kris Golus, Carolyn Tebbs, Patricia Matlock, Rosemary Ash, Ellen Harwell and Barbara Sibley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two aunts and two uncles. Memorials can be made in Davidıs honor to Easter Seals, Superior California, 3205 Hurley Way, Sacramento, CA 95864.
