Final thoughts on election
Dear editor:
I would like to make a few corrections. Bart is right about the election dates but the term doesn't end on election day. Most people know that. When the election is in November, the newly elected member assumes their duties in January. He references Idaho code Title 42, chapter 32. Water and Sewer Districts normally have their elections in February. His term could not have been up in August for two reasons: 1) there are no elections in July; 2) there had not been an election in over ten years, even during the two years he was in charge (recreation, water and sewer districts have their elections in August).
I would also like to know where he gets the notion that "I told the secretary to take care of that and she didn't" absolves him of all responsibility? As he was in charge for two years and no elections were scheduled, he is guilty of everything he has accused both boards of.
As to the chlorination system, I will admit I am not an expert like Bart, so I have to rely on the people who work for me. He was having a lot of trouble with a regulator and the alarm sensor was going bad. Added to the cost of fixing the room write-ups, I felt we would be better off with a tablet system designed for our well and system. While I am on the subject, Bart said he had a verbal agreement with the inspector that there was nothing wrong with our chlorinator closet. Unfortunately, he didn't get it in writing and I received a letter asking me what I was doing to correct the write-ups. One of the discrepancies was that the louvers had to be moved to the east wall.
As Bart has stated, there is no east wall to move them to.
Ducting the exhaust fan to draw from the floor level was also a problem as there was electrical wiring in the way. None of that is a problem anymore and we have had no problems with the new system.
We are also having an election on Nov. 3, and all water and sewer district voters are encouraged to participate.
