Lady JV slips past Middleton
The Mountain Home Lady Tigers JV volleyball team came away with two conference wins last week.
After a second-game collapse, the Lady Tigers battled back to take the third game and beat Middleton, 2-1 in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium last Tuesday night.
Mountain Home was in control in the first game, and won easily, 25-13, but were down 14-0 in the second game before finally scoring. Middleton ended up winning the second game 25-7.
The third game went back and fourth, with Mountain Home coming through at the end to win 25-13.
"Tonight's game against Middleton was the first match of our new beginning," said Lady Tiger JV volleyball coach Erin Markus.
Stephanie Jewell and Emily Schetzle both had three kills and an ace, and Shelby Bessler had two aces in the win.
The Lady Tiger JV competed in the Lyle Petty Volleyball Tournament at Borah High School on Sept. 12, where they finished third in their division, playing against 5A schools.
The Lady Tigers picked up a 2-1 win over Emmett last Thursday night at Emmett. After dropping the first game, 20-25, the Lady Tigers came back to win the second game, 25-17, and the third game, 15-10.
Emily Schetzle had eight kills and three aces, Hailey Belt had four kills, and Krissy Elliott had three aces.
The Lady Tigers hosted a tri-match with Kuna and Nampa last night, and travel to Bishop Kelly on Thursday.
