Lady Tigers rebound from BK loss, crush Emmett
The Mountain Home Lady Tigers girls soccer team bounced back from a loss to Bishop Kelly with a win over Emmett last week.
Bishop Kelly 9, Mountain Home 0
Mountain Home traveled over to Bishop Kelly last Tuesday and lost to the unbeaten Lady Knights 9-0.
The Lady Tigers were unable to put any goals through the net against the Lady Knights, and had just six shots on goal all game.
Alicen Wendall had 12 saves on goal for Mountain Home.
"That was an old-fashioned butt-kicking," said Mountain Home girls soccer coach Dan Snelgrow. "BK is a very good team, and that was an eye-opener for our girls, but I'm looking forward to playing them on our field.
"We had a couple scoring opportunities in the first half, that, had we been able to score, might have changed the attitude of our girls and the game, but it didn't happen."
Mountain Home 7, Emmett 0
Mountain Home had no problems bouncing back into the win column on Thursday, beating the Lady Huskies from Emmett 7-0 at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.
Rachel Warila scored four goals, Mady Vines had two and Crystal Juarez had one goal in the win as Mountain Home had 15 shots on goal.
Alicen Wendall had three saves as Emmett managed just three shots on goal for the game.
"Our girls are motivated -- every one of them," said Coach Snelgrow. "It was a total team effort and everyone got to play."
The win improved the Lady Tigers to 5-3 in league play and 6-3 on the season. The Lady Tigers took on Skyview and Columbia this week.
