Gary Smith
Gary A. Smith, 59, of Glenns Ferry, passed away Aug. 23, 2009, at his home.
A celebration of Garyıs life will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, at the VFW Hall in Glenns Ferry at 11 a.m. with a dinner following. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Gary was born to Frederick and Clara Smith on July 11, 1950, in Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1968.
In 1969 Gary joined the Marine Corps, which he served in until 1971. During that time he served a tour in Vietnam.
Gary enjoyed racing cars in the 1970s. He raced at Meridian speedway. In 1974, Gary moved to Glenns Ferry. Gary started working for Western Farm Services in 1984 and was with them up to his passing. In 1992 he married Grace in Mountain Home.
Gary is survived by his wife, Grace, of Glenns Ferry, sons Kenneth Smith (Christy Bowman) of Mountain Home, Chuck Smith (Shawn) of Oakesdale, Wash., Mike Anthony (Linda) of Centralia, Wash., Erik Cayo of Hammett, daughters Nikki Titus of Nampa, Donella Castle (Willis) of Poulsbo, Wash., Jacklin Andre of Payette, and 15 grandchildren.
Gary is preceded in death by both his parents and one grandson.
