Jim F. Miller Jr
Jim F. Miller Jr., 73, of Mountain Home, passed away following a long illness on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at a care center in Pocatello. A Memorial Service with military honors by American Legion Post 26 will be held at 1:00p.m. Friday August 14, 2009 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Inurnment to be held at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery in Boise at a later date.
Jim was born to Jim F. Miller Sr. and Silver Pitt-Miller August 3, 1936 in Durango, Colorado. He grew up in Pueblo graduating from Centennial High in 1955. Following graduation, Jim joined the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the service, Jim met Evelyn Beale, also of Pueblo, Colorado and they married in 1966. After 20 years of service, Jim was honorably discharged August 1975. After military life, Jim worked as a mechanic for farm and mining equipment.
Jim loved the outdoors which led him to his enjoyment of camping. He was also very handy at fixing and repairing things. Jim loved telling jokes and tall tales. He was a member of Agi Day Community for 8-9 years and a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5th Ward.
Jim is survived by his wife Evelyn of Mountain Home, daughter March Reininger of Boise, sons Thomas and his wife Olya of Vancouver, Washington and Karl and his wife Laurie of Boise, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by both parents.
