David Wayne Swenson
David Wayne Swenson, 52, of Mountain Home passed away at a Boise hospital on August 5, 2009.
A memorial service was held Monday August 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Military Honors were by the American Legion, Post 26 of Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
David was born September 15, 1956 to Raymond and Eileen Swenson in Mountain Home. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in May 1974. He met and married Wanda West on his birthday, September 15, 1974 and together they had five children.
David worked numerous jobs around Mountain Home in his early years. In 1979, David joined the U.S. Army later receiving an honorable discharge. The family then moved to Nampa where he worked at Carnation Potato Plant as a mechanic. In 1986, David and his family returned to Mountain Home. He went to work for Jack Post Farming then on to Hiddleston Drilling as a welder for 17 years.
Dave loved to hunt, do woodwork and loved doing his metal art. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson. Dave had many friends and did not know a stranger. He loved spending time just shooting the breeze with whomever.
David is survived by his mother Eileen Swenson, his wife Wanda, sons James, Raymond, Curtis and Robbie, his daughter Angel, a grandson Justin, and one brother Douglas, all from Mountain Home and a sister Della Leggett of Grays Lake, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond, grandparents James and Florence Hampton, and Lloyd and Cleona Swenson.
