Wilfred C. Huddleston Sr."Hut", 77, passed away August 1, 2009 at his home in Mountain Home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held on August 14, 2009 at 10:30 am at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home, Idaho. Chaplain Jim Schmidt will be officiating the service.
Hut was born August 24, 1931 in Loyall, Kentucky to Dewitt and Jessie (Boggs) Huddleston.
Wilfred attended Loyall High School and was a point guard for the Loyall High basketball team. Upon graduation Wilfred joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Sampson AFB, NY, Chanute AFB, IL., Reese AFB, TX., Anderson AFB, Guam, Rhein Main AFB, Germany, Thailand and Mountain Home AFB, ID.
Wilfred retired after 24 years of military service. Following his retirement, he went to work for the city of Mountain Home where he was employed for 13 years.
In 1955 Wilfred married Patsy Forbes in Texas. Hut was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 26, Sons of the American Legion and 40/8. He spent many years coaching little league and American Legion baseball. Those who knew him know what his accomplishments and contributions were to his community.
Wilfred is survived by his wife Patsy of Mountain Home, daughters, Vonda Huddleston, and Ronda Fisher both of Mountain Home, son Wilfred C. Huddleston Jr. of Houston, TX., One granddaughter Neva Huddleston of Los Angeles, Ca., his twin brother Willard Huddleston of Athens, TX., brothers James and Eddie Ray Huddleston of Harlan County KY., George Huddleston of Herndon, VA., and sisters Jean Henry of Okeechobee Fl., and Barbara Rippey of Toledo Ohio. Wilfred is preceded in death by both of his parents, a sister June Farris, and a brother John Huddleston.
The family would like to thank Dr. Crossley and the staff of Horizon Home Health Care and Hospice for the excellent care given to Hut during his illness.
