Patricia Allyn (Brown) Smith
Pat (Brown) Smith passed away June 4th, 2009 in Enterprise, Oregon after a short battle with cancer. Her husband and children were at her side.
Pat was born June 20, 1943 in North Hollywood, California to Roger and Viola Brown. They soon moved to Wendell, where she grew up on the farm, attended school, and graduated from Wendell High School.
After high school, while attending the University of Idaho, she met and married Jim Assendrup and they had 3 children. They later divorced. After spending several years in California, Pat moved back to Idaho where she became the Editor for the Glenns Ferry Pilot and met and married Larry Smith in 1988. They made their home in Glenns Ferry and then King Hill where they raised and trained horses until they moved to Enterprise Oregon in 2004. Pat continued her love for horses, her dogs, and her parrot Frodo. Her interests were helping other people, photography, and driving her horse Speed Boat.
Pat is survived by her husband, Larry Smith of Enterprise, Oregon, her daughters Terri (Vic) Flores of Washougal, WA, Julie (John Karp) of Denver, Co., her son Brian (Kip) Assendrup of Glenns Ferry, Idaho and her grandchildren, Brandon, Heather, Sierra and Nicole.
She is also survived by her brothers, Barry (Glenna) Brown of Wendell, Idaho, Doug (Debi) Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho and Sister, Cindy (Errow) Tortel of Filer, Idaho and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grand parents and father and mother Roger and Vi Brown.
She is truly missed by her family.
Pat requested no service but there will be a celebration of Pats life June 20th at the Smith home on Williamson Road, Enterprise, Oregon from 12 Noon -- 4PM. Friends are very welcome.
