Peg Peterson
Margaret "Peg" Ruth Peterson, 76, of Mountain Home, died Dec. 2, 2008, at a local care center.
A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Inurnment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
Peg was born July 24, 1932, to Lawrence and Pauline Alexander Fetty in Cainsville, Mo. At the age of four she moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1949.
She married John "Pete" A. Peterson in 1952. After traveling the world with the U.S. Air Force, they made their last move in 1968 to Mountain Home. They shared 22 years and parented four sons together.
Peg met her devoted companion John Flipovich in 1994 and became a Catholic in 1995. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary.
"Peg was a very patriotic woman with a quick wit and a great sense of humor," her family said. "She was the constant center of her family and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved being a mom and grandma. She also loved bowling, cooking, sewing, music, dancing, reading and animals."
She is survived by: four sons and daughter-in-laws: Larry and Caroline of Linderhurst, Ill., Terry and Mary Ann of Mountain Home, Paul and Sandy of Rosemead, Calif., and Brian and Katrina of Newport, Ore.; companion John Flipovich of Mountain Home; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one uncle and two cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt.
