Carolene Horst

Carolene Reeves Horst, 92, of Hammett, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Poplar Grove Assisted Living in Glenns Ferry.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Hammett Community Church. Inurnment will be held later in the spring or summer of 2009. Services are under the direction of Demaray's Gooding Chapel.

Carolene Hilty Reeves Horst was born in Nampa on Sept. 26, 1916.

She attended schools in Nampa, Glenns Ferry, Bruneau and Hammett.

She was a charter member of the Indian Cove Church and also Hammett Community Church.

She married George H. Reeves on Jan. 13, 1939, in Hutchinson, Kan. They moved to Idaho in 1943 and lived in Twin Falls, Indian Cove and Hammett. George Reeves died in 1975. She married Ray Horst in July 17, 1982, and moved to Lodi, Calif., returning to Hammett in 1984.

She is survived by: three daughters, Sandra Culbertson, Ruth Ann Hathaway and Geneva Duff; one son, John M. Reeves; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, George Reeves, Jr.
