Marsh's work, dedication means she deserves re-election
Dear editor:
As with the bamboo tree that appears to be dormant for six years while its strong foundation of roots is being formed below the surface, so is the progression of the Western Elmore County Recreation Center. Just as the bamboo tree suddenly springs forth from the ground, so can the recreation center. From the outside, it may appear that the recreation district has been dormant. The exact opposite is true. Like the bamboo tree, a strong foundation has been established and now it is on the verge of springing forth from the ground. Because of the hard work and dedication of Mollie Marsh and the rest of the board, we are about the see the first phase of the long awaited recreation center.
Even though the progress has appeared to be slow, this has been necessary to ensure that the district is able to meet the desires of the voters, while building a financially viable recreation center that serves all members of the district.
The district has received much publicized criticism for their appearance of "no progress."
Its easy to be the nay-sayer, to criticize, condemn and complain about the lack of progress of any project. As has been said, "the devil is in the details". Building a multi-million dollar, debt-free, multi-use facility is not something that occurs easily or quickly. It takes a lot of selfless, thankless dedication and time, which Mollie and her recreation board have unselfishly given.
If the detractors to the current board would spend their efforts and money promoting and helping move the recreation center along, they would be even more successful in bringing a much needed recreational facility to Mountain Home.
Beware of career politicians or "so-called' friends who seek to spend more of our tax dollars. The current board, with Mollie leading the charge, has been free of self-interest, politics and back-door dealing that often accompanies projects of this magnitude.
Vote to continue bringing forth our recreational center that is on the verge of being built. Re-elect Mollie Marsh to the WECRD board.
