Conference play doesn't get easier for volleyball team second time around
It was a rough week for the Mountain Home Lady Tigers last week as they started the second time through their conference volleyball schedule.

Mountain Home failed to get any kind of a rhythm going last Tuesday nigh against Emmett, as they lost in three straight games to the Lady Huskies in conference volleyball in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.
Playing in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium for the first time this season due to the major construction of the roof and ceiling, the Lady Tigers seemed out of focus. In the first game, they hung close early, the game tied three times, the last time at 5-5, before Emmett went on a 7-1 run to go out ahead, 12-6.
The closest Mountain Home ever came was with four, on five occasions, the last at 17-21. Emmett scored the final four points to win the first game, 25-17.
Mountain Home went up early, 3-1, in the second game, but an 18-4 run by Emmett put the game out of reach, as Emmett won, 25-13.
The Lady Tigers fell behind early in the third game, and at one point trailed, 8-18, before an 8-2 run brought them back within four, 16-20. They could get no closer than four, and lost the third game 19-25.
"We couldn't get anything going tonight until the third game, but still couldn't get it going -- too many unforced errors," said Lady Tiger volleyball coach Rachele Asbury after the game.
Blas Lord was 8/11 on servings, with four service points, an ace, five kills and two digs. Nickayla Skinner was 7/7 on serves, had two service points, six assists and three kills. Sarah Cantrell was 9/9 serving, with four service points, two aces, two kills and two digs. Samantha Laughlin was 6/7 serving, had five kills and five digs. Charde Huntington was 8/9 serving, with five service points, an ace and a kill. Jennie Jewell was 2/2 serving with two digs. Katrina Hodgerson was 2/2 serving with four assists. Tanya McKenzie was 2/3 serving with one service point. Jasmyn Jewett had two kills, Kelsie Hopkins 1/2 serving with a dig, and Brittany Ryan had seven digs.
Nampa 3

The Lady Tigers never really got into a good rhythm against Nampa in the first match of a conference tri-match in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home last Thursday.
After falling behind by as many as seven points several times in the first game, the Lady Tigers did put together a 14-7 run to tie the game at 22-22. A serving error ended the run, as Nampa scored the final three points to win, 25-22.
Mountain Home grabbed the lead in the second game and held it until the Lady Bulldogs caught them at 14-14. After that, Nampa outscored the Lady Tigers 11-3 to win game two, 25-17.
In the third game the Lady Tigers fell behind and didn't mount any type of comeback and lost, 25-13, to lose the match in three straight games.
"It was like we were asleep for some reason in the middle of the day," said Lady Tiger volleyball coach Rachele Asbury. "We missed serves again, serve-receive, we couldn't get the swing of things going and we just were never able to come back on them."
Sarah Cantrell was 9/11 serving, with seven service points, two aces, three kills and three digs. Charde Huntington was 9/10 on serves, with six points, one ace, two kills and four blocks. Nickayla Skinner was 6/6 serving, with two points, an ace, four assists and a block. Samantha Laughlin was 5/5 serving, had two points and four kills. Katrina Hodgerson was 4/4 serving, with two points, an assist and a kill.
Jennie Jewell was 3/3 serving, with one service point and a dig. Blas Lord was 3/6 serving, had a kill and a dig. Jasmyn Jewett was 1/3 on serves and had six kills, and Arlene Futch was 1/2 serving.
