Mollie Glidden
Mollie H. Glidden, 89, of Bruneau, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at her home.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 12, at the Bruneau American Legion Hall. Burial followed at the Bruneau Cemetery.
Mollie was born in Salmon, Idaho, on Nov. 15, 1918. She was the youngest of four children. She attended grade school at the Iron Creek School on the Salmon River and went to Salmon High School.
She married John Glidden in Salmon on Nov. 21, 1936. They lived in the Salmon area and northern Nevada before the family moved back to Bruneau in 1944, where she resided until her death.
Mollie was raised on a sheep ranch and later lived and worked on cow ranches, farms and a dairy. She was a school bus driver and drove a milk truck. She also cooked in the hot lunch program and worked as a school custodian.
"She loved life and lived it on her terms. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her," her family said.
Mollie is survived by: her three sons and their wives, Donald and Rita Glidden of Lava Hot Springs; Ray and Sarah Glidden of Kuna; and Bill and Judy Glidden of McDermitt, Nev.; her brother, Joe Moodie, of Mercer Island, Wash.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and two brothers, Emerson Moodie and Robert Moodie.
