Fire department responds to smell of natural gas downtown

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

The Mountain Home Fire Department and city police responded to reports of a natural gas leak somewhere downtown Wednesday afternoon at about 2 p.m.

Authorities were first alerted to the problem when employees of the Dilly Deli reported smelling gas. Reports of the smell of natural gas also were received from other business owners in the area.

The source of the smell was not immediately found, and fire crews were released about 15 minutes later after Intermountain Gas employees showed up to investigate and correct the problem.
