Terry Wells
Terry Gene Wells, 65, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at a Boise care center.
A viewing was held on Monday, Aug. 4, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, with a viewing and services afterward at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mountain Home Idaho Stake Center. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
Terry was born in Mackey, Idaho on March 5, 1943, to Novell and Peggy Wells.
He attended school in Boise, graduating from Boise High School in 1962. Terry was a talented athlete and was state wrestling champion all four of his high school years. After high school he attended Boise Junior College.
He served in the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1965.
Terry married his high school sweetheart, Sally Vanderwood, on April 1, 1966. Together they had two daughters, Stacey and Jolie. Terry and Sally later divorced.
Terry did various types of employment. In the earlier years he was assistant manager of Oppel Harvester, Inc., and worked at Interstate Plastic. Later he owned his own businesses, TerWel, Inc., Jol.Stay and Wells Ornamental and most recently he worked for Budget Movers and had his own business hauling RVs cross country.
"Terry loved metal work, mining and being in the mountains," his family said. "He had a tremendous love for family and would lend a helping hand to whoever needed it."
Terry is survived by: his daughters, Stacey Wells and Jolie Wells-Rosenfield; three granddaughters; his mother, Gladys (Peggy) Wells-Crossley; his brothers, Ivyl and his wife, Evelyn Wells, and Ron and his wife, Marta Wells; his sister, Patty, and her husband, Devon Williams; his sister-in-law, Diane Wells, and various nieces, nephew and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Terry's name be made to the American Cancer Society 2676 S. Vista Ave, Boise, ID 83705.
