Richard D. Roseland, 58, of Mountain Home, died June 8, 2008, following a long, hard battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 2422 American Legion Blvd., in Mountain Home.

Funeral services will be held in Harlowton, Mont., on June 16 at 2 p.m. at Perkins Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery.

Idaho arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home and the Montana arrangements are under the direction of Perkins Funeral Home in Harlowton.

"Rick had a passion for the outdoors," his family said. "He was an avid gun enthusiast who loved to just go out shooting. It didn't matter whether it was hunting game or hunting targets, there was always something to shoot.

"Rick (also) had a strong love for his very blended family."

His family went on to note that "he had a deep devotion for his wife of 13 years," Theresa P. Roseland. They were married on June 2, 1995, in the mountains of Montana. They first met in Harlowton, Mont., and in time moved to Glenns Ferry.

"After the kids grew up and moved away they began their journey together traveling the western states promoting gun shows, living out Rick's dream," his family said.

Rick is survived by: his wife, Theresa; seven children -- Lisa and her husband, Greg Muzi; Shawn and his wife, Heather Roseland, of Atlanta, Ga.; adopted children Christina and her husband, Don Larson, of Montana; and Patrick Roseland; step-children Elizabeth and her husband, Mark Gasper, and Clayton and his wife, Magen Nitzel, of Idaho; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Roseland, his mother, Sophie Oftsad, and his father, Thorvald Roseland.
