Tennis team scores two victories for boy, one for the girls' squad
The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team closed out their busiest week of the season with two wins for the boys and one win for the girls, their first of the season.

The Tiger boys swept all of their matches with the Bulldogs last Monday at the base.
Ricky Guadarrama won the #1 boys singles match in a real battle, 7-6 (TB 7-3), 7-6 (TB 7-5). "It was an exciting match!" said Tiger tennis coach Tamzy House. "Both players played great tennis, but Ricky dominated in the pressure-filled tie breaks."
Chris Oswald won the #2 boys singles, 6-1, 6-1, and Andrew Martin won at #3, 6-2, 7-5.
In boys doubles, Jordan Niksich and Joey Miller won the #1 match, 6-1, 6-1, and Keth Galloway and Bryan Walsh won the #2, 6-0, 6-0.
In girls singles, Jessica Lewis came back in the third set to win the #1 match, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. Carolyn Bailey lost the #2 match in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 2-6. Brittany Crownhart lost the #3 singles, 2-6, 2-6.
In girls doubles, Allyanna Wintermote and Danielle Gorman won the #1 doubles, 6-1, 6-4, and Caitlyn Smith and Hanna Smith dropped the #2, 3-6, 2-6.
Mountain Home swept the mixed doubles, as Greg Walsh and Carina Sauter won, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (TB 7-4), and Tanner Carpenter and Lauren Borgholthaus won 6-3, 7-5.

The Tiger boys got past Jerome last Wednesday at the Air Base. Ricky Guadarrama lost the #1 boys singles, 1-6, 2-6, Chris Oswald won the #2, 7-6 (TB 7-4), 2-6, 6-3, and Andrew Martin lost the #3 in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 1-6.

The Tigers started the second half of their conference season last Thursday with a home match against Kuna.
The Tigers dropped all three boys singles matches. Ricky Guadarrama lost a tough, three-setter at #1, 6-4, 2-6, 4-6. Chris Oswald lost the #2, 1-6, 0-6, and Andrew Martin lost #3, 3-6, 5-7.
The boys #1 doubles team of Jordan Niksich and Joey Miller won 6-2, 7-5, while Keth Galloway and Bryan Walsh lost a tough, three-set battle, 7-6 (TB 7-5), 4-6, 6-7 (TB 5-7).

Fourteen members of the Tiger tennis team went to Boise Friday and Saturday to play in the Boise High Invitational Boys and Girls Singles Tournament.
"This is a fun thing to do and it provides great match experience, especially for those who do not get much opportunity to play singles on the high school team," said Coach House. "Each player is put into a singles tournament bracket based on their skill level. Each bracket is then played as a separate tournament."
Two Tiger boys made it to the semifinals, as Ricky Guadarrama in bracket #2 and Keth Galloway in bracket #4.
"Keth lost his semifinals match in three sets, while Ricky won his match," said Coach House. Ricky moved into the finals, but lost a tough fight, taking second place in the #2 bracket."
Hanna Smith and Bran Wheeler pulled out wins in the consolation rounds of their brackets.
Team members that played in the tournament included Ricky Guadarrama, Keth Galloway, Hanna Smith, Bryan Wheeler, Andrew White, Jordan Niksich, Joey Miller, Tanner Carpenter, Ross Pataro, Jessica Lewis, Lauren Borgholthaus, Carina Sauter, Carolyn Bailey, and Allyanna Wintermote.
The Tigers went to Columbia on Monday, and host Skyview at the base on Thursday.
