MHHS choirs look to end year on high note in Anaheim

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

The MHHS choirs left today, Wednesday, for the Heritage Festival Competition in Anaheim, Calif.

In August, the choirs began fundraising for the trip. After eight months, nine fundraisers, three concerts, three competitions, and continuous practices in the classroom, they are now ready to compete.

Ninety-nine students make up the six choirs attending the festival and will perform from 4:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18.

"My fellow students and I have worked hard all year," said senior Lindsey Norris who sings in four of the choirs.

According to Choir Director Blake Olmstead, "Anyone who has attended a choir concert, or have heard them sing at numerous events, will know that singing is a passion for these students. It's evident from the moment they step on the stage."

  • Great work, kids! My husband and I were pleased to donate to their fund raising; I was involved with similar things in my day and loved it immensely.
