Rose Thorpe
Rose Mabel Thorpe, 83, of Mountain Home, formerly of Jerome, died April 6, 2008, with her family at her side.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 10, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel with a viewing beginning at noon and funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Rose was born April 19, 1924, to Jackson and Sarah Mae Brown in White Oak, Ark. She attended school in Ozark, Ark., until she met and married Clifford Barker. They divorced and Rose met and married Gayle W. Pegram in Oklahoma City, Okla. Rose and Gayle migrated to Idaho in 1945 for work and they raised their family and were very involved in 4-H as their children grew up, until Gayle's death in 1975. Rose met and married Kenneth D. Thorpe in 1976 and they were involved in numerous bowling leagues. They were happily married until Ken's death in 1996.
"Rose's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and she loved to go fishing. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her," her family said.
Rose is survived by: her children, sons, Bobby Joe and his wife, Barbara Barker, of Hagerman, David G. and his wife, Gerry Pegram, of Hagerman, Thomas V. Pegram of Garden Valley; step-sons, Roy Pegram of California City, Calif., and Jim and his wife, Karen Thorpe, of Twin Falls; daughters, Margaret Crawford of Garden Valley, Rosemary and her husband, Jim Crowder, of Cascadia, Ore., Susan, and her husband, Doug Wood, of Hammett; stepdaughter Carol and her husband, Kenny Moore, of Idaho Falls, with 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Clifford Barker, Gayle Pegram, and Kenneth D. Thorpe, and an infant daughter, one brother, one sister, and her son-in-law, Kenneth Crawford.
