Mountain Man Wrestlers compete
After a week off and some back-to-basics practice sessions, the Mountain Man Wrestling Club wrestled last week at the Vallivue Spring Fling Tournament.
With numbers down due to spring break and family plans, those who participated wrestled well, club organizers said.
Only four youths traveled to Caldwell Friday night for Greco-Roman wrestling events and out of the four only one finished in the medals. Nicholas Shoemaker captured second place.
On Saturday the club had six wrestlers out of eight place in the medals.
Taking first-place honors were, Pre-Bantam Tanner Keener, Midget Kanoa Doronio and in the Junior Division Ty Kleffner.
Bringing home second-place honors were Schoolboy Charlie Shoemaker and in the Novice division Jacob Ryan.
In the Cadet Division Jonathon Ryan wrestled to a third-place finish.
Others wrestling but not placing were Cadet Ryan Goldsby and Midget Nicholas Shoemaker.
Next weekend the club will travel to Mountain View High School for The Idaho Express Invitational.
