Mountain Home Airmen return from deployment

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho - Approximately 190 Airmen from the 726th Air Control Squadron returned today after a four-month deployment to Iraq.

The Airmen served at different locations within Iraq since September 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While deployed, their mission was to monitor the airspace over the battlefield and provide military leaders with a clear and accurate "picture" of that area, allowing commanders to make informed, real-time decisions.

As of January 18, 2008, nearly 260 Gunfighters are deployed around the world engaged in various U.S. military operations.
