Tiger sophomore boys pick up two victories
The Mountain Home Tiger sophomores picked up two more wins in conference boys basketball last week.
Mtn. Home 45
Middleton 43
The Mountain Home Tiger sophomores grabbed an early lead and hung on for a 45-43 win over the Middleton sophomores at Middleton last Tuesday night.
Mountain Home shot out to a 6-0 lead and led, 14-10 after a quarter, and were up, 26-23 at the half. They led, 39-32, heading into the fourth, and enjoyed their biggest lead early in the fourth, when they upped their lead to 42-32. From there they scored just three points, but hung on for a 45-43 win.
Alex Kellogg led the Tigers with 22 points. Damian Soliz added six points, Jordan Warila had five, David Bitrick and Christian Halbach-Patterson both scored four, and Brock Morris and Matt Bernyk each had two points.

Nampa 36
Mountain Home went on a 10-0 run in the second quarter to pull away from Nampa Friday night and on to a 51-36 win.
Mountain Home took a 12-10 lead in to the second quarter and midway through the quarter went on a 10-0 run to move out to a 24-12 lead. It was a lead they would never lose, as they led, 27-17, at the half, and took a 36-24 lead into the final eight minutes of play.
Brock Morris and Tom Hennessee both scored in double figures for the Tigers, Morris had 14, Hennessee, 11. David Bitrick added nine, Damian Soliz, six, Christian Halbach-Patterson, four, Taylor Phillips, three, Matt Bernyk and Alex Kellogg both had two.
The Tiger sophomores improved to 10-1 overall, and 8-0 in league play.

Bishop Kelly 33
The Mountain Home Tigers led all the way in their 52-33 conference sophomore boys basketball win at Bishop Kelly Thursday night.
Bishop Kelly did not hit a field goal in the first quarter as Mountain Home jumped out to a 15-5 lead after a quarter. The Tigers managed only five points in the second period, but led, 20-14, at the half.
After Bishop Kelly hit a trey to open the third and come within three, 20-17, the Tigers went on a 17-4 run the rest of the quarter to take a 37-21 lead into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter saw the Tiger sophomores build their lead to 20 points on a couple of occasions, and they went on to win, 52-33.
Trevor Woodruff led the scoring with 12 points, Brock Morris added nine. Jordan Warila netted eight points, Alex Kellogg and Damian Soliz each had six, David Bitrick, five, Tom Hennessey, Lucas Marsh and Christian Halbach-Patterson each scored two points.

Emmett 32
The Tigers broke open a close game in the second quarter and never looked back as they downed Emmett, 57-32, Saturday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.
Mountain Home took a 12-7 lead in to the second quarter, and outscored Emmett, 18-9, in the second to increase their lead to 30-16 at the half. It was 44-26, Tigers, after three.
David Bitrick led the Tigers with 16 points, Christian Halbach-Patterson added 11. Brock Morris and Jordan Warila both scored eight points, Trevor Woodruff had five, Tom Hennessey, four, Alex Kellogg, three, and Damian Soliz, two.
