Gary Marston
Gary Lee Marston, 58, died at home on Dec. 14, 2007, in Mountain Home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Gary was born Aug. 26,1949, to Marvin and Carol Marston in Pocatello. He was educated at Washington Elementary, Franklin Junior High, and graduated from South Fremont High School. He then attended a trade school at Idaho State University.
He married Anita Cherry in 1967 and had one child, Brian Todd. He remarried in August 1973 to Cathleen Evans Hedstrom. They had three children, Luke Levi, Hannah Lea, and Deidra Ann. He remarried once more in 2006 to Joan Jenkins and became a stepfather to Eric Staggs.
Gary grew up enjoying the great Idaho outdoors. He loved Atlanta, and the Sawtooth Mountain Range where he enjoyed camping with his family, fishing and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour books, was an avid computer enthusiast and an amateur photographer. He loved and raised Doberman Pinschers.
"He couldn't go a night without his beloved hot tub either," his family said, adding that "he loved his Aunt Edie, who used to take care of him as a baby. He always said he had two moms and she was one of them."
His first job as a janitor was in Weippe, Idaho, where he lived for two years. In Terreton, Idaho, he was a school bus driver. He also transported fresh fish food for Hill Milling. In 1978, he moved to Nampa where he started working with Trimco Molding as a salesman. After ten years he moved to Carson City, Nev., where he became a manager of Trimco. He was there for four years then he returned to Idaho and started working for Lumber Products for 15 dedicated years, which he enjoyed the most, his family said.
Gary is survived by: his wife, Joan Marston of Mountain Home; his mother, Carol Gwen Bell-Marston of Pocatello; his children, Luke and Micki Marston of Kona, Hawaii, Bryan Todd of Portland, Ore., Hannah Marston of Mountain Home, and Deidra Marston of Boise; his stepson, Eric and Shannon Staggs of Mountain Home; his sisters, Karen and Quin Gilbert of Inkom, Idaho, and Debbie Connett of Pocatello; his brothers, Raymond and Linda Marston of Sparks, Nev., and Richard Craig of Meridian, three grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Marston, his Aunt Edie Bell, and a cousin.
