Jim Killeen
James "Jim" J. Killeen, 75, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at a Boise hospital.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 2:30 p.m. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Jim was born in New York, N.Y., on April 13, 1932, the son of James and Kathrine Killeen.
Jim joined the Air Force in 1950. In 1952 he was stationed at Brinze Norton RAF. There he met his wife, Nina "Ducky" (Scarrott) Killeen ,at a church dance. In 1954 they were married at St. John's Church in Bath, England. They had their first baby girl Donna in Kingsland, England, in 1955.
Jim and Ducky then left and went to Brooklyn, N.Y., where Jim was raised. They then went to Madrid, Spain, where their son, Jimmy, was born in 1957.
They then were stationed in Mountain Home in 1960, where their last son, Michael was born. They decided to make Mountain Home their home, and did so for over 40 years. Jim worked many places as a parts manager but for many years at NAPA Auto Parts, "where he had many happy times," his family said. "Jim loved the ocean, the mountains, but most of all his family.
"Jim touched many people and was so very loved and will be sadly missed," his family added.
Jim is survived by: his two grandchildren in Boise, one grandchild in New York, three grandchildren in Pocatello, and three great-grandchildren in Boise, cousins in Massachusetts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families in England.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina "Ducky" Killeen, daughter Donna Killeen (Wohner) and sons, Jimmy and Michael Killeen.
