Marion Johnson, 79
Marion G. (Daniels) Johnson, 79, of Glenns Ferry, died peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 10, 2007, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at Glenns Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
Marion's father, Marion Daniels, met and married her mother, Pansy "Dolly" Hurworth in Montana while mining the copper mines of Butte, Mont.
Marion was born July 5, 1928, in Butte. When she was 7, her father moved the family back to Idaho where his family were among the early settlers in Mountain Home. The family followed their father to places like Atlanta and Silver City while he tried his hand mining. The family lived for a time in Boise where Marion attended North Junior High School. They finally settled in Glenns Ferry. Marion's father died just before she graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1946.
She married Claude "Dutch" Johnson on Sept. 29, 1946. Together they raised seven children.
Marion is survived by: her children, Claude "Ernie" Jr. of Boise, Brenda Chisum of Odessa Texas, Linda Percy of Blackfoot, Floyd of Boise, Debra Brown of Glenns Ferry, William "Bill" of Searchlight Nev., Robert "Rob" of Glenns Ferry; sisters Doris (Graybeal) Herod of Boise, Shirley Domy of Kellogg, Edna (Garrett) Gyder of Phoenix, Ariz., Joyce Wilson of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and one brother, Wiley Daniels of Moscow, Idaho, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and her husband "Dutch."
Donations can be made to the Three Island Senior Citizens in lieu of flowers.
