Nathaniel Sands, 19
Nathaniel Peter Sands, 19, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, due to a combination of natural causes, compounded by his diabetes.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, and burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
He was born in Iceland on Dec. 16, 1987.
"Nathaniel embraced life fully in his few 19 years and he had wide-ranging interests in many things, especially reading his BSU philosophy and pre-law books," his family said. "He had many collecting hobbies, participated in many outdoor extreme sports, he loved movies of every kind, dressing in fine style, fixing-up his car, and hanging with his friends.
"Those who knew Nathaniel know that he could hardly ever stay still for very long. He received excellent grades his first year at Boise State University, and looked forward to his upcoming second year. He wanted to study law," his family said.
"Nathaniel had a wide range of friends of every age and occupation and was always curious about going places and meeting new people. He loved a crowd, and will be remembered for his genuine care for others and his gregarious spirit."
He graduated from Richard McKenna Charter School in Mountain Home in 2006. "He loved the staff and faculty at McKenna Charter High School, who helped in many ways, especially Jose (Madarieta)."
He is survived by: his father, Jim Sands; his mother, Kathleen Sands; his sisters, Kelsey Sands and Christy Thompson; his brother, David Sands; grandmother MaryLou Voellinger, many extended family members and many close friends including, Benji Downen and Samantha Waddoups of Mountain Home.
