F. Gene Conrad, 56, of Hammett, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 7, 2007.
A viewing will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
Burial will be held on Friday, July 13, 11 a.m. at the Little Butte Cemetery in Annis, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Gene was born on Jan. 7, 1951, in Idaho Falls, to Farold Conrad and Nora Jean Duncan Conrad. Gene spent his early childhood years on the family farm in Iona, Idaho. His family later moved to Rigby, where he graduated from Rigby High School.
Gene married Shelley Storms in 1974, and they moved to Boise where Gene started his career in the farming industry as a mechanic and sales representative. In 1977, Gene and Shelley moved to Hammett and started their family.
Gene's passion in life was being with his four children. He enjoyed spending quality time in the outdoors with his family and friends. Gene's hobbies included fishing, working on the farm and reading a good book.
"Gene is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends," his family said.
Gene is survived by: his four children, Sarah and her husband, Justin Nedelman, of Los Angeles, Calif., Luke Conrad of Mountain Home, Matthew Conrad of Boise, and Megan Conrad of Boise; two sisters, Carol and her husband, Darrell Chriswell, of Longmont, Colo., and Noreen and her husband, Darius Anderson, of Rigby, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jeffrey Conrad.
