Victor Pacania, 54
Victor R. Pacania, 54, formerly of Mountain Home, died June 23, 2007 in his home in Boise.
A memorial service for Victor was held at Edward's Greenhouse in Boise on Monday, July 2. Services were under the care of Bowman Funeral Parlor.
The first son and second child of Pablo C. Pacania and Crisanta M. Relox Pacania, he was born at the hospital on Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho on July 27, 1952.
After spending half of his high school years in Wichita Falls, Texas, Victor returned to Idaho and graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1970. He was a dedicated certified arborist for Boise's Parks and Recreation for over 25 years, and the producer host of his own Saturday "Private Idaho" radio program on KBSU since 1977.
He is survived by: his sisters, Pauline and her husband, Ronnie Wells of Austin, Texas, and Mary and her husband, Karl Smith, of Mountain Home; his brothers, Richard and his wife, Emineh Pacania, of Garmisch, Germany, and Paul C. Pacania of Boise; his stepfather, Luis L. Ring of Vacaville, Calif.; his half brothers, Ira Ring of Mountain Home, Peter Ring and Cristopher Ring, both of Vacaville, Calif., and Louis and his wife, Carol Ring, of Andrews AFB, Md.; several nieces, nephews, and "countless friends and KBSU radio fans around the world."
The Boise State University Foundation has set up a scholarship fund in Victor's name with proceeds going towards an annual scholarship for students enrolled in the radio production courses through the School of Communication at Boise State University. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to support that fund.
