Luveda L. Martin, 84
Luveda L. Martin, 84, of Mountain Home, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at a Boise hospital after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 5, at the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Luveda was born on March 24, 1922, in Senath, Mo., to William and Dona Long.
Luveda married Robert L. Harvey in 1946 and worked in Indianapolis, Ind., as a custodian at the local schools. Luveda and Robert divorced in 1974.
Luveda later worked at General Motors as a cook at Alison's Cafeteria, which was the employees' café, until her retirement after 15 years of service.
She moved Mountain Home to live with her son, Michael Harvey, one of her six children, in 1992.
On Oct. 4, 2003, Luveda married Darwin A. Martin.
She was a volunteer at the Mountain Home Visitors Center, was a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle Church, and was a member of VFW Women's Auxiliary in Indianapolis, Ind.
"Luveda will be greatly missed by all her friends and family," her family said.
Luveda is survived by: her husband, Darwin, of Mountain Home; her children, Barbara, Larry, June, Orilous, Robert and Michael; sisters Hattie Burcham of Missouri and Valley Faye Miller of Michigan; two step-daughters, Daisy and Phyllis, both of Mountain Home, 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and one step-son, James.
