Marilyn Paul, 76
Marilyn J. Paul, 76, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in a Boise hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Marilyn was born on Aug. 12, 1930, in Brazil, Ind., to Frank and Stella Hadley. She graduated from high school in Brazil and came to Mountain Home as an Air Force wife.
Marilyn spent her career in banking with First Security Bank, then at Home Federal.
She met Pete Diaz and raised two sons, John and Carlos, and then a daughter, Anita. Her marriage to Pete lasted 25 years until his passing.
In 1981, she met the love of her life and soulmate, Kenneth Paul. Upon their marriage in July 1981, they moved to Stockton, Calif. There they remained for 20 years. After Ken's and Marilyn's retirement they moved back to Mountain Home in 2001.
Marilyn was active doing volunteer work for the Mountain Home Senior Center and the Mother Cabrini Sodality in the Catholic Church. She was also a past member of the Lady Elkettes. Her favorite vacation spot was at Arizona Beach, near the Rogue River in Gold Beach, Ore. She enjoyed riding the jet boats, flying kites and the Cranberry Festival at Bandon.
Ken and Marilyn celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2006.
Marilyn is survived by: her husband, Kenneth M. Paul, Jr., of Mountain Home; her daughter, Anita Diaz of Glenns Ferry; her son, Carlos, and his wife, Patricia, of Albuquerque, N.M., and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, and two sons, John and Paul.
