Tony Ramsey, 78
Tony G. "Red" Ramsey, 78, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at a local care center.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Jan. 13, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial was at the Bruneau Cemetery in Bruneau. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Tony was born on Nov. 1, 1928, in Bruneau, one of nine children born to Matt and Lottie Ramsey.
Tony grew up on a ranch in Bruneau. He bought his first cattle truck as a teenager and started a life-long career hauling for the local ranchers.
Tony spent two years in the Army, then returned to Mountain Home.
Tony married Arlene Eichholz on June 12, 1971, in Elko, Nev., and immediately became a father to LeeAnne, Shirley, Joe and Toni. In 1972, his daughter, Jimmie Lee, was born.
"Tony was a wonderful father and husband, but his world became even brighter when his two grandchildren, Mattie and Jace, were born and then he became 'Poppy'," his family said.
Tony is survived by: his wife, Arlene; his daughter, Jimmie, and her husband, Aron Bennett, of Mountain Home; his daughter Leanne Kearby, of Mountain Home; his daughter, Toni, and her husband, Randy Sevy, of Boise; his daughter, Shirley, and her husband, Keith Prickett, of Nampa; his son, Joe, and his wife, Sandy Carrico, of Indiana; five sisters; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
