Jeannie Pierce, 70
Martha Jean "Jeannie" Pierce, 70, of Mountain Home, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan.12. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Jeannie was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Wyoming, the daughter of Graham and Hazel Mackie. She was raised and schooled in Wyoming and graduated from high school at the age of 16.
Jeannie entered into Nursing School at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise and graduated in 1956.
On Dec. 22, 1956, she married Kenneth Pierce. She and Kenneth farmed at Little Camas for a few years before moving to Boise due to Kenneth's health. Jeannie worked at St. Alphonsus until Kenneth and Jeannie moved to Mountain Home in 1966.
Jeannie enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting and being in the outdoors. She was also member of the Mountain Home Senior Center.
Jeannie is survived by: her three daughters; Cheryl and her husband, Michael Huffaker, of Florida, Joanna and her husband, Kurt Martinson, of Mountain Home, and Barbara and her husband, Elias Leija, of Boise; a sister, Ruth Boyd of Boise; a brother, Donald, and his wife, Patsy Mackie, of Wyoming; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Kenneth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Jeannie's name to the Mountain Home Senior Center, 1000 N. 3rd East St., Mountain Home, ID 83647.
