Susan Brown, 61
Susan Anne Brown, 61, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, after battling cancer for a few months.
A rosary was held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home, on Monday, Jan. 1, 2007. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Sue was born to Rodger and Sally Bouck in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on April 11, 1945. Most of her childhood was spent in Schenectady, N.Y.
She met her future husband, Dennis, when they were seniors in high school. After graduation from the State University of New York at Buffalo, they were married on Aug. 6, 1966.
Dennis entered the United States Air Force and they began their life of travel and fun. Assignments included California, South Carolina, Dennis to Thailand for a year, Germany, Las Vegas, Mountain Home, England, back to Mountain Home, and retirement. Along the way many good friends were made, her family said.
Sue worked at several different jobs, the latest being a real estate agent in Mountain Home.
Dennis and Sue retired early, took up golf and became addicted. They loved spending winters in Palm Springs and summers in Mountain Home.
Besides golf, Sue loved her family and friends, her home, her pets, working in her yard, wine and cooking. She was a great cook and Dennis liked to eat whatever she made, her family noted.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father in-law.
She is survived by: her husband of 40 years, Dennis; her sister, Patty, and her husband, George Cook; mother-in-law Bernice Brown; sisters-in-law Beverly (Jerry), and Claudia (Mike); brother-in-law Roger (Nancy) and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000.
