Fred Marsh, 71
Fred W. Marsh, 71, of Bruneau, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in a Boise hospital.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Bruneau American Legion Hall. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Bruneau Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Fred was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Fairbury, Neb., to Fred L. and Rose Marsh. At the age of three months his family moved to Idaho. Fred was schooled in Caldwell and he graduated from Marsing High School.
Fred worked as a painter with his father until his father's death. Fred then farmed in the Grand View area with his brother in-law, Dale Lyons. Fred started working as a carpenter and in 1986, moved to Oregon to start farming. In 2000, Fred moved back to the Bruneau/Grand View area.
Fred's hobby was playing the guitar. The love of his life was music and Fred played with the Old Time Fiddlers, his family said, adding that he also enjoyed his pickup, stream fishing, camping and being a mechanic.
Fred is survived by: his brothers, Jack Marsh of Grand View, Charles and his wife, Nell Marsh, of Alabama, and Frank and his wife, Cordelia Marsh, of Virginia; his sisters, Fern Lyons of Nevada, Jean Booth of Washington, Mary Marsh of Grand View and Joy and her husband, Cyril Bergeson, of Nampa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fred was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters.
