Russell Pickett, 80

Russell Ernest Pickett, 80, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at a Boise hospital.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Russell was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Arling, Idaho, the son of Percie and Grace (Radtke) Pickett.

On Feb. 24, 1946, Russell married Florence E. Radschweit in Waukegan, Ill. Together they had two children, Richard and Linda.

Russell's hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and leather tooling. Russell retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970.

Russell is survived by: his daughter, Linda Pickett of Mountain Home; one granddaughter in Washington; his brother, James and his wife, Phyllis Pickett, of Virginia; his sister, Irene Hopkins of California; his sister, Ellen and her husband, Dick Heiman, of Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his infant son Richard, two brothers, LeRoy and Percie, and his sister, Laura.
