Helen Weathers, 88
Helen R. Weathers, 88, of Mountain Home, died at her home on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Helen was born on Dec. 6, 1917, in Bassett, Neb., to Fred and Nora Hopkins.
She married Karl E. Weathers, May 31, 1943, in Rapid City, S.D.
Karl was in the United States Air Force and together they lived in several locations, including Spokane, Wash., Colorado Springs, Colo., Bangor, Ma., Mid West City, Okla., Little Rock, Ark., and finally Mountain Home.
Helen has lived in Mountain Home since 1964.
Helen's hobbies included doll making, oil paintings, playing the piano and needlework.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Eastern Star, and a Red Cross Optometry volunteer at Mountain Home Air Force Base for 16 years.
Helen is survived by: her son, Karl, and his wife, Thelma Weathers, of Mountain Home; her son, James, and his wife, Stephanie Weathers, of Medical Lake, Wash.; a son in-law, Dean Daniels of Moscow, Idaho; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, her son, Larry Weathers, her daughter, JoAnn Daniels, and her brother, Dick Hopkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Horizon Hospice, 1310 American Legion, Mountain Home, ID 83647.
