Linda Richards, 60
Linda E. Richards, 60, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at her home with her family by her side.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Linda was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Elizabeth McLaughlin. She was raised and schooled in the midwest.
She attended the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul, Minnesota and received her B.A. in Elementary Education. She later received her Master's Degree of Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in the Arts, from Leslie College. Over the last 20-plus years, Linda had been a first grade teacher at the Base Primary School at Mountain Home Air Force Base.
On Feb. 14, 1981, she married Ronny Richards, in San Diego, Calif.
She was a member of the Oregon Trail Reading Council, the Mountain Home Education Association, and loved teaching school. She also enjoyed arts, crafts, gardening and reading. She loved her family, her children, grandkids and all her students, her family noted.
Linda is survived by: her husband, Ronny Richards of Mountain Home; her son, Jack, and his wife, Billie Sue Morelli, of Tucson, Ariz.; her daughters, Elizabeth Mosley and her fiancé, Rusty Baker, both of Mountain Home, and daughter Kristine and her husband, Jason Hynes, of Seattle, Wash.; her father and mother, Jack and Elizabeth McLaughlin of Oceanside, Calif.; her sisters, Jennifer Witte of San Jose, Calif., and Kristine McLaughlin of Minneapolis, Minn., and her brother, Michael McLaughlin, of Minneapolis; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Linda's honor can be made to the Linda Richards' Vision Fund, c/o Home Federal, 400 N. 3rd East St., Mountain Home, ID 83647. Donations to the fund will assist children's special vision needs.
