Gerald Lounsbury, Jr., 76
Gerald Robert Lounsbury, Jr., 76, of Mountain Home, died from lung cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at a local care center.
Per his request, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Gerald was born Dec. 18, 1929, the son of Gerald and Millie Lounsbury, Sr., in American Falls. Later his family moved to the Ketchum area and he lived there for many years before going into the Air Force, where he served for 23 years in the intelligence field and in fire fighting. Three of those years were spent deployed overseas.
Gerald spent most of the rest of his life doing what he loved most, running his deep sea fishing boat, the "Echo," in the Florida Keys. When he moved to Mountain Home he spent most of his time fishing and traveling in his motor home from Galena Summit (his favorite Idaho place) to the Florida panhandle.
Gerald is survived by: his daughters, Christine Owens of Coeur D'Alene and Cindy Ward of Oregon; sons Jerry Ward of Texas and Charlie Majone of Michigan; a sister, Patricia Smith of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
