Michelle Crone, 42
Capt. (ret.) Michelle Christine LaPorta Crone, 42, of Mountain Home, died at her home on Aug. 4, 2006.
A viewing was held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel on August 11. Burial will be held at Saint John's Cemetery in Johnstown, Penn., at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Michelle was born Sept. 2, 1963, the daughter of Leonard and Dorothy LaPorta in Johnstown, Penn. In 1981, she graduated from Conemaugh Township High School in Davidsville, Penn.
She served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 2003 as an operating room nurse. During that time she achieved the rank of captain, earning numerous achievement metals.
She served at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, Plattsburg, N.Y., Travis, Calif., Aviano, Italy and Mountain Home.
She was married to Ronald Crone for 15 years.
She loved to travel and spoke Spanish and Italian, fluently. Capturing every moment with pictures was her favorite hobby.
"She touched a lot of lives with her outgoing and loving ways," her family said.
Michelle is survived by: her three daughters, Kelsey Crone, Danielle Crone and Isabella Crone, all of Mountain Home; one son, Leonard Crone of Mountain Home; her father, Leonard, and his wife, Lois LaPorta, of Davidsville, Penn.; her mother, Dorothy LaPorta of Johnston, Penn.; her brother, Charles, and his wife, Bridget LaPorta, of Seanor, Penn.; a sister, Tammy, and her husband, Edward Voegele, of Cullman, Ala.; grandparents Mary LaPorta of Windber, Penn., and Ethel Kenno of Seanor, Penn, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lenny.
