Margaret Womack, 78
Margaret Womack, 78, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at a local care center.
Per her request, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Margaret was born on Jan. 7, 1928, in Wilkshire, England. The family moved to Basingstoke where Margaret was raised and went to school until at the age of fourteen. She then went to work in a nursery to help her family during wartime.
In 1946, she met and married Joseph Womack and emigrated to the United States. They moved to Utah and had eight children. In 1969 the family moved to Idaho.
Margaret and Joseph divorced in 1970.
"Margaret had a nurturing way that made each of her children feel special and loved in their own way," her family said. "She had many hobbies, including crocheting and ceramics and each of the kids are a proud recipient of a Mommas creation.
"Her generous spirit knew no strangers and her love extended a warm blanket of peace for her extended family," they added. "There are no in-laws in her family. If she loved you, you were just family. She could not have been happier than when she was in the company of her 13 grandkids and 27 great-grandkids. There was no better way to describe her than in her great-grandkids way -- 'She was Grandma Great'."
Margaret is survived by: daughter, Pam, and her husband, Steve Gabriel, of Mountain Home,; daughter Patricia Jean and her husband, Mitchel Sullivan, of Nampa; daughter Ann Womack of Mountain Home; son Thomas and his wife, Connie Womack, of Mountain Home; son Virgil Womack of Mountain Home; son Joe and his wife, Sharon Womack, of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Jean and Patricia, both of England; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
