Paul Disher, 73
Paul Edwin Disher, Sr., 73, of Mountain Home, died peacefully in his sleep, on July 31, 2006, with his wife by his side, at a local care center.
Per his request, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Paul was born Feb. 7, 1933, to Ralph and Irene Disher, Sr., in Syracuse, Ind. He was raised in Syracuse and joined the Air Force in 1952.
In 1956, he married Ruth Gruver and they had two children, Paul, Jr., and Sandra.
He retired in 1972 at Mountain Home Air Force Base. After his retirement he worked for Mountain Home Ford, then he went back to doing what he loved, truck driving, and moving mobile homes for various companies over the next 30 years. More recently he worked hauling grain to the Simplot feed lot in Grand View for Arrillaga Trucking.
"Paul loved road trips to the mountains for camping and other places," his family said. "He had many lifelong friends that will miss him."
His was a member of the B.P.O.E. #2276.
Paul is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Ruth Disher of Mountain Home; his son Paul and his wife, Rose Disher, of Phoenixville, Penn.; a daughter, Sandra Casey of Emmett; three grandchildren; his brother, Ralph Disher, Jr., of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Paul's honor to a charity of choice.
